Goldwind Australia welcomes the Tasmanian Government’s Draft Tasmanian Renewable Energy Action Plan

“Goldwind Australia welcomes the Tasmanian Government’s Draft Tasmanian Renewable Energy Action Plan. Goldwind recognises this plan as a strong commitment towards Tasmania’s clean recovery and lower emissions future,” said John Titchen, Managing Director Goldwind Australia.

“The Tasmanian Government has shown unique leadership with the announcement of a 2040 target to achieve 200 per cent renewable energy. The Government has taken strong action on climate change and a firm initiative to deliver significant renewable growth opportunity for Tasmania.

“Goldwind acknowledges the progressive initiatives the Tasmanian Government has taken with Battery of the Nation and Marinus Link projects, improving the state’s economic development through investment and local employment.

“The construction of Cattle Hill Wind Farm in Tasmania’s Central Highlands created approximately 150 jobs during the construction period on-site as well as additional offsite work from Tasmanian project partners.

“Cattle Hill Wind Farm, a joint development between Goldwind and PowerChina, contributes to increasing Tasmania’s renewable energy generation by approximately 5 per cent, enough clean energy to power the equivalent of approximately 64,000 Tasmanian homes each year.

“Renewable energy projects will continue to provide economic opportunity in Tasmania, and a pathway to recovery at this difficult time.

“The Tasmanian Government’s Draft Tasmanian Renewable Energy Action Plan is an excellent direction for the state. Goldwind will review this document in detail and provide feedback in due course,” commented John.
